What is this? It’s regurgitation or maybe butterflies; it depends on your perception. It depends on how you see things. I’ve been writing about Brazilian jiu-jitsu on the Tap or Die blog since 2009 and now it’s time to take down some older posts and instead of having them disappear forever, I’ve decided to collect the butterflies, the thoughts that have come to my mind and then have floated off, things to think about.
Okay, that’s the artsy-fartsy side of my mind, the real part of me says it’s the blog barf that I’ve been spewing for years and I just put it all together for anyone who wants to read it.
I’ve debated whether or not to put this together and while talking to a friend of mine, the topic of seminars came up. From that conversation I’ve come up with an analogy. When we go to a seminar, especially if we’ve been going to them for years, we have usually been exposed to most of the techniques, but there is always something new we take away, something we didn’t know or forgot or weren’t ready for, or missed the first time. That one thing we learn is always worth the cost of the seminar, at least in my mind.
So yes, this book is barf; it’s butterflies and BJJ, but hopefully it’s something to think about, maybe something new to take away or something we didn’t know or forgot or weren’t ready for or missed the first time.
